Don't know whether it's used outside Australia - but "Lest we Forget" is inscribed on war monuments around the country. We have a national public holiday devoted to remembering wars, ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) day. Returned soldiers march to the local war memorial at dawn and the girl guides and school kids march too. "Lest we forget" is always said as part of the ceremony.

(The KKK kind of image is really a bit disturbing)

Some peace-oriented types can use the day to get a peace message out. The fabulous women's/peace activist Judy Small has a song titled "Lest They Recall" in response to the phrase.
